The School for Training Guide Dogs for the Blind, IAP (in Spanish), is the first training school for guide dogs in México. The school contributes to the wellbeing, independence, mobility, and self-esteem of low-income people with visual disabilities through rehabilitation and the training and donation of guide dogs. The school promotes excellence in care and economic sustainability under international standards. The school was founded to raise, educate, train, and donate guide dogs for the blind and provide inclusive rehabilitation to people with visual disabilities. Since its founding in 2015, the school has provided rehabilitation services to more than 200 people with visual disabilities and their families and trained 138 pairs of people with visual disabilities and guide dogs. The school’s website provides information and answers to frequently asked questions on what guide dogs are, how they are trained, and how they are connected to a person with visual disabilities. Their rehabilitation services are provided to Mexicans with visual disabilities who are between 14 and 80 years old, receives support from a family member, and live in Mexico.
