We just posted the June 2009 issue of our RehabWire newsletter. This issue features the Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers focused on participation and community living. These nine centers were funded by NIDRR under its Participation and Community Living research priority:

“For the promise of full participation and community living to become a reality, people with disabilities need safe and affordable housing; access to transportation; access to the political process; and access to the services, programs, and activities offered to all members of the community at public and private facilities.” NIDRR’s Long Range Plan 2005-2009

These projects conduct research, and provide training and technical assistance to rehabilitation professionals, service providers, educators, and people with disabilities and their families. Their research programs are diverse across disabilities and audiences.
