November 2000 RehabWire featured projects and reports focusing on HIV/AIDS.
December 2006 RehabWire recognized the 15th “anniversary” of the discovery of the virus.
June 2008 RehabWire looked at “hidden disabilities” including HIV/AIDS.

Projects
NIDRR has funded several projects on HIV/AIDS, looking at vocational rehabilitation, medication adherance, long term wellness, mental health, and substance abuse. Read through the project abstracts.
Of course there is a lot more research “out there”. The National Institute on Allergy and Infectious Diseases HIV/AIDS division funds millions of dollars of research. International organizations, nonprofits, and pharmaceutical companies announce new discoveries every year. Still, more than 33 million people are living with the virus today, with more than 56,000 new cases every year just in the US.
