Grants.gov alerted us to a new opportunity for institutions conducting research in employment of people with disabilities. This rehabilitation research and training center will focus on successful employment of people with disabilities from the employer perspective.
Applications are due July 19th. A pre-application meeting is scheduled for May 27th.

The best source to identify federal grants is http://www.grants.gov. You can search for certain criteria or set up an alert to email you when certain grant types are posted. NIDRR may not be the most appropriate granting institution for your needs unless you are conducting research in rehabilitation and treatment of disabilities. There may be other programs you can apply to. Here’s some additional information in where and how to identify grant opportunities: http://www.naric.com/research/pd/grantsinfo.cfm.
I would also highly recommend a visit to your local public or university library. They can help you search databases such as the Foundation Center database and can point you to grant writing resources in their collection.
