This time from Tamie Pyle, our Senior Information Specialist:
“Since there are many more dogs being used for a wide variety of disabilities than ever before, not just seeing-eye or guide dogs wearing a vest anymore, but hearing dogs, assistance dogs, service animals, companion animals, and therapy animals. I get more and more calls from individuals with a disability and businesses, both wanting to know their rights and responsibilities. I refer them to the Delta Society because they provide a brochure which explains the difference between types of service animals and the federal laws, both available to download.”
