On Monday, December 20th, 2010, the Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy in conjunction with the Department of Defense made available the database: 2011 Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities. The goal for this database is to assist federal and private sector to identify workers with disabilities.
There are over 2,000 candidates in the database that represent all academic backgrounds and degree levels. The students in the database are seeking summer and/or full time employment. Over 20 federal agencies regularly use the Workforce Recruitment Program, which has provided employment opportunities for more than 5000 students with disabilities since 1995.
Federal officials can take advantage of this new resource by visiting http://www.wrp.gov by registering and searching independently for employment candidates. Private sector employers can search the database through ODEP’s National Employer Assistance and Resource Network by calling 866-327-6669 or filling out a form at http://www.earnworks.com.
