Resources for Autism and Vocational Rehabilitation

The RRTC on Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Service Models for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders is building a directory of VR programs and individual counselors with experience or specialty in working with clients with autism spectrum disorders. The directory currently has 17 state agencies and 26 individual counselors listed. The directory is intended to give clients and families better contacts within their VR system to access effective and appropriate services. You can peruse the directory and find out how to add or update your information (if you’re a VR professional) at http://autism.sedl.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77&Itemid=127

On a related note, this RRTC is seeking nominations of VR programs that are effective in placing and maintaining persons with autism spectrum disorders in appropriate, mainstream employment placements. For more information visit (and sign up for) their newsletter at http://autism.sedl.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=86&Itemid=62
