How different are the brains of people on the autism spectrum?

NPR has a great piece on autism studies showing how the brains of people on the autism spectrum operate different from those without autism. Researchers used functional MRI (fMRI) to compare the brains of people with and without autism as they performed mental tasks (math, facial recognition, lying). Results showed that certain connections between parts of the brain may not function the same. Read/hear the story at npr.org.
