Knowledge Translation for Employment Research (KTER) Hosting an Online Workshop on “Barriers and Supports for Research Use”

The Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL) NIDRR-funded Center on Knowledge Translation for Employment Research (KTER) is hosting an online workshop on “Barriers and Supports for Research Use” that can be attended whenever is convenient.  The free workshop uses materials from an in-person workshop held this past April to present ideas and strategies to promote the use of high quality research information to support employment of people with disabilities.  Barriers and how to address them are also discussed.  The workshop format includes three presentations, each followed by a discussant and a question and comment period with a final summary and wrap-up.

Speakers include:

  • Ms. Jill Houghton, Executive Director of the United States Business Leadership Network (USBLN)
  • Dr. Richard Horne, Director of the Division of Policy Planning and Research, Office of Disability and Employment Policy (ODEP), Department of Labor
  • Dr. Michael Gamel-McCormick, Disability and Education Policy Advisor; US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP)
  • W. Grant Revell, Research Associate, Virginia Commonwealth University, Rehabilitation Research and Training Center

Register for the workshop.  This workshop has been pre-approved by the CRCC for 6 CRC-CEUs.  Completion of all online materials and a 20-question multiple choice assessment (75 percent correct responses) is required to obtain a Verification of Completion form.
