The new pictograms for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games have been released! The latest rendition (the making of which can be viewed at rio2016.com), will mark the first time that all the 41 Olympic and 23 Paralympic sports are represented together in the Games’ pictograms. It took designers 16 months to come up with the figures for each sport which feature an athlete’s body and sport equipment inside of pebble-shaped icons depicting athlete’s different movements. The pebbles range in color according to the color spectrum: remember ROY G. BIV. The pictograms will serve as the Games’ visual identity for all promotional activities between now and Summer 2016.
