Usually in the top 10 posts among our Spanish readers, “A Brief History of Autism” discusses the history of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and provides resources and research from the NIDILRR community and elsewhere. Since we first published “A Brief History of Autism”, articles in NARIC’s collection on ASD has nearly quadrupled and includes NIDILRR-funded and international research articles. NIDILRR is also currently funding 9 projects related to ASD, which include research on independent living, community living and participation, a transition program in a community college, increasing community participation in rural communities, peer-mediated transportation interventions, and more.
Our friends at AbleData have some more reading for you on augmentative and alternative mobile apps for children with ASD.
If you would like more information on ASD, please contact NARIC’s information specialists by calling 800/346-2742, chat, or by email.
