Our Grants.gov alert emailed us this morning to announce that the 2010 Switzer Fellowship Grants are open for applications.
The Switzer Fellowships are one year grants given to an individual researcher to complete a research project. Grants are made at two levels: Merit and Distinguished. Merit Fellowships are granted to those without PhD or similar degrees or who may be in pursuit of a PhD. Distinguished Fellowships are granted to researchers with PhD or similar degrees and are funded at a slightly higher level. NIDRR anticipates funding only 7 total fellowships for 2010.
Eligibility and application information are available from Grants.gov at http://www07.grants.gov/search/search.do?&mode=VIEW&flag2006=false&oppId=50456
In the past, NIDRR has funded a wide range of projects for the Switzer Fellowships, from the most technical research in prosthetic use and gait to social research in parenting to demographic and historical research. To get an idea of what topics were funded in the past, try this search in the NIDRR Program Database: http://www.naric.com/research/results.cfm?search=1&type=all&phrase=no&criteria=h133f*
Please note: We do not have access to successful applications or proposals.
The Grants.gov email subscriptions are incredibly handy and probably the best way to stay up on new funding opportunities. Visit http://www07.grants.gov/applicants/email_subscription.jsp to learn more.
