The Dept of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy is now publishing monthly employment statistics for people with disabilities in the US. Data is collected through the Current Population Survey and analyzed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. According to the latest report:
In March 2009, the unemployment rate of persons with a disability was 13.1 percent, compared with 8.9 percent for persons with no disability, not seasonally adjusted. The employment-population ratio for persons with a disability was 19.8 percent, compared with 64.6 percent for persons with no disability.
