FEDDF: A Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities in Spain

The Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF, Spanish acronym) (in Spanish) is a nonprofit organization established in 1968 in Spain that is affiliated with the Higher Sports Council and the Spanish Paralympic Committee. The Federation works with athletes with physical disabilities in various sports, including volleyball, basketball, snowboarding, slalom, rugby, powerlifting, and hockey, among others. At an international level, FEDDF maintains Spain’s representation in official sports-related activities and competitions in and outside of Spain for people with physical disabilities and elects the athletes with disabilities that meet the different national and international criteria to participate in sanctioned competitions. Under the Higher Sports Council, FEDDF applies for and organizes international competitions. Within Spain, FEDDF organizes adapted sports events and facilitates access to sports practice for people with physical disabilities, promotes the elimination of architectural barriers, and disseminates information and creates awareness in local communities. FEDDF shares the latest news in adapted sports, a calendar of events, courses and clinics, information on the Paralympic Games, women and adaptive sports, and publications of interest, among others.
