EEOC Proposes Changes to Track Job Applicants with Disabilities — Comments due by April 16th

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has announced plans to revise its Demographic Information on Applicants form to include disability status data. This change would help the EEOC and federal agencies track the recruitment and hiring of people with disabilities. Currently, the form only tracks race, ethnicity, and sex.

EEOC is particularly interested in comments on:

  1. Whether the proposed changes will be useful for federal agencies in helping them determine if their recruitment efforts are effectively reaching people with disabilities, and if their job candidate selection procedures allow all applicants to compete on a level playing field
  2. Ways to enhance the quality, usefulness, and clarity of the information to be collected
  3. Ways to minimize the burden of collecting the information through the use of new technology.

Comments on the proposed changes are due April 16th. You can read more about the form and the information to be collected, and submit a comment at FederalRegister.gov – Click “Submit a Formal Comment” on the right.
