CEPRI Association: Supporting Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders Throughout Their Lives

The CEPRI Association (in Spanish) is a non-profit organization that has been working since 1980 to provide lifelong support to people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and to help improve their quality of life and that of their families. CEPRI was formed by a group of young psychology professionals in Spain at the end of the 1970s who pursued three objectives: Provide a socio-educational response to children with intellectual disabilities associated with difficulties in verbal communication and behavioral alterations, promote research in this field, and promote the education and training of family members and professionals throughout Spain. Today, CEPRI contributes to their community by supporting and providing opportunities so that each person with ASD and their families can increase their quality of life, as well as promotes their inclusion as a full citizen in a fair and supportive society. In the intervening decades, CERPI has developed several centers, services, and training to support their contributions to their community. They include a special education center (in Spanish), a day center and residential care service (in Spanish), a family support service (in Spanish), recreation and leisure services (in Spanish), and a yearly practical theoretical course for professionals (in Spanish) on providing support to individuals with ASD and their families.
